A Virtual Technology Trade Show

On November 5th and 6th, the Technology Gateway will at the 2014 FLC Tech to Market virtual forum. Three of Langley’s technologies will be featured in our exhibit: Fiber Optic Shape Sensing Technology, Compact Active Vibration Control System, and Electron Beam Freeform Fabrication (EBF3).

  • Fiber Optic Shape Sensing Technology

    Fiber Optic Shape Sensing Technology
Image a position detection method that offers 10 times greater accuracy than comparable optical techniques. This Langley technology uses fiber optics to determine the shape, curvature, and position of objects. Robotics, tracking, integrated vehicle systems are just a few of the possible applications.

  • Compact Active Vibration Control System

    Compact Active Vibration Control System
Is having the ability to stabilize structures one of your company’s needs? Then, find out about this small actuator and sensor system that can be located virtually anywhere on large flexible structures in order to sense and reduce vibrations. From helicopters to small optical components, this unique device can control unwanted vibration and noise.

  • EBF3 Al Fitting w Int Flo Vanesm

    Electron Beam Freeform Fabrication (EBF3)
If your technology needs and interest include additive manufacturing, you’ll want to know about EBF3. Originally designed to build complex, near-net-shape NASA parts with substantially less raw material and finish machining, EBF3 can now be used for a myriad of manufacturing purposes. Think of building parts or tools in hours, rather than days or weeks.

Each of these technologies was the topic of a recent technology webinar. The charts from the webinars will be available in the exhibit, along with short videos and other information about the unique properties of the technologies and their potential applications.

Andrew Helminger, a staff member from Langley’s Technology Transfer Office, will be on hand to “virtually chat” with attendees about the three technologies.
